NRIS is pleased to announce that Montana's 2005 color orthophotos from the National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) have been integrated with the Montana Digital Atlas application at http://nris.mt.gov/mapper and the Topofinder application at http://maps2.nris.mt.gov/scripts/esrimap.dll?name=LocMap&Cmd=Map

We have also enhanced the Topofinder to display U.S. National Grid (USNG) coordinates. You can also use Topofinder's Search Tools to enter a USNG coordinate and focus the map at that location.

Lastly, the Digital Atlas and the Topofinder now seamlessly display USGS 1:24,000 scale topographic maps. Compare a view from the previous version of the Topofinder at http://maps2.nris.mt.gov/topofinder1/old_24k.jpg to the current version at http://maps2.nris.mt.gov/topofinder1/new_24k.jpg.
