The
seminar, entitled, “Where on Earth is my Water Right?” will include an overview
and demonstration of Internet-accessible water rights data. Through the joint efforts of DNRC, NRIS, the
Upper Clark Fork Steering Committee, and funding from the EPA’s Regional
Geographic Initiatives grant, a 30-year-old goal is being achieved –
centralized statewide water use and water right information that is easily accessible
via the Internet.
Water
users, resource managers, and the public are invited to attend and learn more
about this impressive new resource management tool.
This
seminar is free of charge. For more
information, call (406) 444-5357 or (406) 444-0465. Interested individuals are also encouraged to visit the NRIS website at http://nris.state.mt.us.
The Montana Natural Resource
Information System was established in 1985 by the Legislature. NRIS, a division of the State Library, acts
as a clearinghouse for natural resource information.
